Paris in the summer – what a beautiful place to be. This was my first visit back in 2010 as part of our little European adventure. We were only there for a long weekend, but saw quite a lot of what the “City of Love” has to offer. First up, go to the top of the Eiffel Tower. This famous attraction was #69 on my bucket list.
Having purchased our lift tickets online (wasn’t going to attempt the stairs up), we could jump one queue. Although we still had to stand in the lift queue. But before we knew it, we were whisked up to the top viewing platform.
We went to the highest platform and gazed out across the city. Note the new Chanel sunglasses purchased on the Champs-Elysées 😉
We also couldn’t help buying ourselves a glass of (overpriced) champagne. It’s just one of those things that seems right at the time. Then it was time to head back down. We decided to take the stairs from the first platform. There’s over 300 steps, but it’s a lovely view the whole way down.
The top of the Eiffel Tower is a pretty amazing place to be. We were really lucky with the weather. I wouldn’t mind being up there and watching the sunset. I imagine the view of the “City of Lights” would be stunning. Paris seems to have a lot of nicknames – do you know any others?
What’s on your bucket list?
